Day 1 Tours to Chacas
Departure to the northeast of Huaraz, we will pass through the towns of Taricá, Jangas, Marcará, Carhuaz (2,650 m) and then we ascend through the Ulta gorge. We will stop at the highest trans-Andean tunnel in the world, (Olympic Point 4,738 m high) and 1,384 m long), we will appreciate beautiful mountains that surround us, Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Hualcán, Ulta and also the cancaraca and yanaraju lagoon .
After crossing the tunnel we will descend to the Conchucos Valley, arriving at Chacas (3, 330 m), lunch and visit the main square, the municipal palace and its beautiful traditional architecture with balconies carved by the students of the Don Bosco artisan school of Operation Mato Grosso, directed by Father Hugo de Censi, highlights important works in wood carving, then they are exported to Europe, we can also find other artistic works in weaving and embroidery, sculpture and painting, and restoration.
