PROGRAM:
Day 1 Huaraz / Chiquian / Llamac / Cuartelhuain (4,300 m)
We will transfer in our transport south of the city of Huaraz to Cuartelhuain, passing through Recuay, Chiquian and Llamac where we will have lunch, then we will continue until reaching Cuartelhuain 4,000 m (5/6 hours) from this point the equipment and food will be transferred in donkeys (D, A, C)
Day 2 Cuartelhuain / Paso Cacanan Punta (4,700 m) / Mitucocha (4,400 m)
This day we will begin to walk along a slightly steep path until we reach the Cacananpunta pass 4,700 m, then we will begin to descend until we reach the Mitucocha lagoon 4,150 m where we will camp (4/5 hours) (D, A, C)
Day 3 Mitucocha / Carhuac Pass (4,650 m) / Carhuacocha (4,100 m)
Very early we will start with the hike, appreciating the beautiful peaks of the Huayhuash mountain range of Paso Carhuac 4,650 m then we will descend until we reach Carhuacocha lagoon 4,138 m (4/5 hours) (D, A, C)
Day 4 Carhuacocha / Carnicero Pass (4,800 m) / Huayhuash (4,500 m)
We will continue with our walk, passing through impressive lagoons, such as Quesillococha, Siula and the beautiful mountains such as the Jirishanca Grande, Siula, Jurao, Butcher and Trapeze We will pass the Carnicero Pass 4,600 m and we will descend until we reach Huayhuash 4,200 m where we will camp (6/7 hours ) (D, A, C)
Day 5 Huayhuash / Paso Portachuelo (4,750 m) / Viconga (4,407 m)
After breakfast we will ascend to cross the Portachuelo pass 4,750 m from where we will appreciate the mountains of the Raura mountain range and the Viconga lagoon, we will camp at the exit of the channel 4,407 m, 20 minutes from the camp there are hot springs where we will take a bath (5 / 6 hours) (D, A, C)
Day 6 Viconga / Punta Cuyoc Pass (5,000 m) / Guanacpatay (4,100 m)
After breakfast we will start climbing until we reach the Punta Cuyoc pass 5,000 m the highest pass of the entire trek, optional ascend to the San Antonio viewpoint (5,020 m) from where there is an impressive view of the mountain range, then we will descend until we reach the valley of Guanacpatay 4,100 m (6/7 hours) (D, A, C)
Day 7 Guanacpatay / Huayllapa / Huatiac (4,350 m)
We will descend to the town of Huayllapa 3,800 m where there is telephone and shops, after a break we will begin to ascend to our camp in Huatiac 4,350 m (5/6 hours) (D, A, C)
Day 8 Huatiac / Tapush Pass / Paso Yaucha / Jahuacocha (4,100)
We will climb Tapush Pass (4,800 m) Susucocha Lagoon and ascend to the yaucha pass (4,790 m) and then continue to the viewpoint and descend to the Jahuacocha camp (4,100) (6/7 hours walk) (D, A, C)
Day 9 Jahuacocha / Llamac / Huaraz / Hotel
We will start walking very early passing the Punta Llamac pass 4,650 m and descend to the town of Llamac where the minivan will wait for us to return to Huaraz (4 hours) (B, L) What includes?
