Willkacocha Lake
Willkacocha Lake is a picturesque highland lake located in the Black Mountain Range (Cordillera Negra) near Huaraz. Known for its calm waters and sweeping views of the snow-capped Cordillera Blanca, the lake is an excellent spot for short hikes, acclimatization walks, and enjoying peaceful Andean scenery with contrasting mountain ranges.

Itinerary
Day 1 Huaraz (3,100 m) / Puente Santa Cruz / Lag. Willkacocha (3,745 m) / Huaraz
Departure (8:30 am) We will begin the pick-up from your hotel with our transportation and travel to the southwest side of Huaraz to the Santa Cruz Bridge. From here, we will begin the ascent, passing through the town of Santa Cruz, observing the farmers’ crops and animals. We will arrive at the Willkacocha Lagoon. From here, we will have beautiful views of the Cordillera Blanca. We will return along the same trail to our transportation and then to Huaraz.
