Itinerary:
Day 1 Huaraz (3,090 m) / Olleros / Tzacracancha (4,000 m)
Departing Huaraz to the southeast, passing through Olleros and Canrey Chico (3,450 m), we will begin our trek east of the Cordillera Blanca through the Uquián Gorge, appreciating the snow-capped mountains of Shaqsha, Cashan, Rurec, Huantzan, and Rurec, until reaching the Tzacracancha campsite (4,000 m) (4 hours).
Day 2 Tzacracancha / Yanashallash Pass (4,700 m). m) / Shoncopampa (3,800 m)
We will continue along the same gorge until we reach the Yanashallash Pass (4,700 m), from where we can see some snow-capped peaks of the Cordillera Blanca and the Eastern Valleys. Then we will descend to our camp in the Shoncopampa gorge, 3,800 m (4 hrs).
Day 3 Shoncopampa / Chavín (3,200 m) / Huaraz
We will continue along the same trail, passing through small villages until we reach Chavín (3,200 m). We will visit the archaeological complex for approximately 2 hrs. Then we will return to Huaraz.
