PROGRAM

Tourist Bus: La Paz → Uyuni

Departure from La Paz at 8:00 pm by tourist bus. Overnight journey (approx. 10 hrs) across the Bolivian Altiplano toward Uyuni, enjoying the changing landscapes of the Andes during the trip.

Day 1 – Uyuni → Salar de Uyuni → Incahuasi Island → San Juan (3,656 m / 11,995 ft)

After breakfast, departure by 4×4 Land Cruiser toward the spectacular Uyuni Salt Flats, the largest salt desert in the world. Along the way, visit the famous Train Cemetery, the traditional village of Colchani, local salt processing workshops, and the Salt Hotel Museum. Continue across the endless white landscape to Incahuasi Island (Fish Island), home to giant cacti and incredible panoramic views of the salt flats. Lunch during the excursion. In the afternoon, continue to the village of San Juan for dinner and overnight in family guesthouses.

Day 2 – San Juan → High Andean Lagoons → Red Lagoon (4,278 m / 14,035 ft)

After breakfast, continue the adventure through the remote Bolivian Altiplano surrounded by volcanic landscapes and colorful lagoons. Visit Ollagüe Volcano and the beautiful lagoons of Cañapa, Hedionda, Chiarkota, and Honda, where large colonies of flamingos can often be seen. In the afternoon, cross the impressive Siloli Desert and stop at the famous Stone Tree rock formation before arriving at the stunning Red Lagoon inside the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Red Lagoon → Green Lagoon → Uyuni (4,800 m / 15,748 ft)

Early departure at 5:00 am to explore some of the most extraordinary geothermal landscapes in Bolivia. Visit the Sol de Mañana Geysers with their steaming fumaroles, followed by the relaxing Polques Hot Springs. Continue to White Lagoon and the spectacular Green Lagoon located at the base of the Licancabur Volcano, famous for its intense emerald color produced by the high mineral content of the water. After the excursion, begin the return journey to Uyuni passing through the Valley of Rocks, Villa Alota, Kulpinaka, and San Cristóbal. Arrival in Uyuni around 6:30 pm. Evening tourist bus back to La Paz.

Day 4 – Arrival in La Paz (3,650 m / 11,975 ft)

Arrival at the La Paz bus terminal around 7:00 am after an unforgettable journey through the Uyuni Salt Flats, colorful lagoons, volcanic deserts, and the breathtaking landscapes of the Bolivian Andes.
