ITINERARY

A.M. or P.M.

Pick up from your hotel or bus station in Nazca (upon request) and transfer to the Nazca Airport, located approximately 4 kilometers from the city center.

Upon arrival at the airport, passengers will complete the registration process before attending a short documentary presentation about the Nazca Culture, the history of the Nazca Lines, and the archaeological importance of the region. This introduction provides valuable information that will help you better understand the significance and mystery surrounding these ancient geoglyphs.

After the briefing, passengers will board a small aircraft specially designed for sightseeing flights. Each passenger will have a window seat, allowing excellent visibility throughout the excursion. Before takeoff, the pilot will provide safety instructions and explain the flight route.

Once airborne, the adventure begins as the aircraft flies over the vast Nazca Desert, revealing the incredible figures carved into the earth centuries ago. To ensure all passengers can clearly appreciate each geoglyph, the pilot will gently circle around every figure from both sides of the plane.

Among the most famous figures you will observe are:

  • The Whale – one of the first geoglyphs visible during the flight.
  • The Geometric Lines and Giant Trapezoids – enormous straight lines and shapes stretching for kilometers across the desert. Their precision has inspired countless theories regarding astronomy, religion, and even extraterrestrial origins.
  • The Astronaut – a mysterious humanoid figure drawn on the slope of a hill rather than on the desert floor.
  • The Monkey – famous for its spiral tail and intricate design measuring nearly 90 meters long.
  • The Dog – located close to the Monkey figure.
  • The Hummingbird – one of the most elegant and perfectly preserved figures, associated by researcher Maria Reiche with the summer solstice.
  • The Spider – a delicate figure measuring approximately 46 meters, believed to have astronomical significance.
  • The Condor – an enormous bird figure with extended wings.
  • The Flamingo – stretching over 300 meters in length.
  • The Parrot – another remarkable animal figure found within the desert plains.
  • The Hands and The Tree – located near the Pan-American Highway and among the most photographed geoglyphs.
  • The Lizard – partially divided during the construction of the Pan-American Highway in 1937.

Throughout the flight, passengers will enjoy spectacular aerial views of the desert landscape while learning about the theories and mysteries surrounding these ancient creations, which remain one of Peru’s most fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

After the overflight, return to Nazca Airport and transfer back to your hotel or bus station.
