Day 1: Arequipa (2,325 m / 7,628 ft) → Monte Blanco (4,800 m / 15,748 ft) Pickup from the hotel at 9:00 am. We drive in a 4×4 vehicle passing through Cabrerías until we reach 4,150 m (13,615 ft). We can observe South American camelids (vicuñas) in the Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve, and sometimes condors. We hike approximately 3 hours to Monte Blanco camp at 4,800 m (15,748 ft). (Lunch, Dinner)
Day 2: Monte Blanco → Summit (5,825 m / 19,111 ft) → Arequipa Very early after breakfast, we start the ascent to the summit of Misti Volcano (5,825 m / 19,111 ft), taking about 4 hours. We will enjoy the sunrise and impressive views of the Andes mountain range and the “Ring of Fire” (chain of volcanoes in southern Peru).
