Itinerary

Day 1: La Paz → Sorata → Ancoma
Departure from La Paz towards the picturesque village of Sorata, located at the foot of the Cordillera Real. Continue by local transport to Ancoma, where the expedition begins. Camp setup and preparation for the climb surrounded by stunning Andean landscapes.

Day 2: Ancoma → Base Camp
Start the trek through valleys, traditional farming areas, and glacial scenery on the way to Illampu Base Camp. This day allows gradual acclimatization while enjoying spectacular mountain views.

Day 3: Base Camp → Moraine Camp
Ascent over rocky and glacial terrain toward Moraine Camp. The route becomes more demanding as the expedition gains altitude and approaches the glacier section of Illampu.

Day 4: Moraine Camp → High Camp
Climb across glacier terrain with the assistance of crampons and ropes to reach High Camp. Afternoon dedicated to rest, hydration, and final summit preparations with panoramic views of the Cordillera Real.

Day 5: Summit Illampu (6,427 m / 21,086 ft) → Moraine Camp
Very early alpine start for the summit push of Illampu, one of Bolivia’s most challenging and beautiful peaks. After reaching the summit and enjoying breathtaking views over the Andes and Lake Titicaca region, descend carefully back to Moraine Camp.

Day 6: Moraine Camp → Base Camp → Hot Springs
Descent from the high mountain environment back to Base Camp and continue toward the relaxing natural hot springs. Time to recover and celebrate the successful expedition.

Day 7: Return to La Paz
Morning transfer back through Sorata and return to La Paz. End of services.
