Program
Day 1: La Paz – Zongo Pass – Base Camp Refuge
Early in the morning, departure from La Paz by private transport towards Zongo Pass, located at approximately 4,700 m / 15,419 ft. During the journey, enjoy spectacular views of the Bolivian Andes and surrounding snow-capped peaks. Upon arrival, meet the mountain guide and organize climbing equipment before hiking to the refuge or high camp.
In the afternoon, there will be a short acclimatization walk and basic glacier practice, including the use of crampons, ice axe, and rope techniques. Dinner and overnight at the mountain refuge, surrounded by breathtaking alpine scenery.
Overnight: Refuge / High Camp
Altitude: 4,700 – 5,200 m / 15,419 – 17,060 ft
Day 2: Summit Huayna Potosí (6,088 m / 19,974 ft) – Return to La Paz
Very early departure around midnight or 1:00 a.m. to begin the ascent to the summit of Huayna Potosí, one of the most iconic mountains in Bolivia. The climb follows glacier slopes and the famous North Ridge route, offering unforgettable sunrise views over the Cordillera Real and Lake Titicaca in the distance.
After reaching the summit at 6,088 m / 19,974 ft, time to rest, take photographs, and enjoy the incredible panoramic scenery. Descend carefully back to the refuge, followed by transportation to La Paz in the afternoon.
